WHEN it comes to starring in soaps, actress Paula Lane is certainly a pro.
The talented star has now swapped Coronation Street, for a new role in Emmerdale.
Who is Paula Lane?
Born on April 17, 1986, in West Yorkshire, Paula Lane is an actress.
She is best known for her work in ITV soaps, which includes roles in both Corrie and Emmerdale.
On finishing drama school, Paula was cast immediately in the ITV 1960s-based drama Heartbeat where she made her television debut playing a teacher, Wendy Kelshaw.

Over the years she has starred in plenty of TV shows including Postal by Terry Pratchett for Sky,.
Paula has also starred in The Royal, BBC soap Doctors, and featured in the short film War Wounds alongside Stephen Mangan.
Who did Paula Lane play in Coronation Street?
Paula joined Coronation Street in 2010, playing the feisty Kylie Platt, who was the half-sister of character Becky McDonald (Katherine Kelly).
She left the role in 2014, when she went on maternity leave, before returning the following year.
However in 2016, Paula revealed she had quit the Corrie for good, when she fell pregnant with her second child.
She revealed at the time, how she wanted to take a complete break from acting for a while to focus on her family.
Speaking to OK!, Paula said: “I think it’s got to be a clean break, I don’t think I’m going to take anything.
“I have to put Kylie in a box, literally. I think that’s the healthiest option.”
She explained: “I feel like I’ve got to nurture this new baby. Arthur only had 11 weeks with me before I went back to work.
“I’ve done six years of solid work so I think I owe it to myself to have a natural break.”.
Paula added: “There have been a couple of offers of work already, but I feel like it’s too soon.
“If anything amazing comes up I’d have to take another look at my plan.”
Her character was killed off in July 2016.
Who does Paula Lane play in Emmerdale?
In November 2023, it was announced that Paula had joined the cast of Emmerdale, playing newcomer Ella Forster.
Speaking about her role, she said: “I’m so excited to be joining the cast of Emmerdale.
“Everyone has been so welcoming and I can’t wait to start a new chapter playing the role of Ella.
“I’ve already heard there are big plans for her and I can’t wait to see her navigate a new life in the village and hopefully make some friends!”
Producer Kate Brooks added: “Ella is a complex and multi-layered character who comes to the village and certainly makes an impact. Ostensibly she’s a good, moral character, but is there more to her than meets the eye?
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome an actor of Paula’s calibre to the show and we can’t wait to have her light up our screens.”
Paula started her role on the soap in January 2024.
Is Paula Lane married?
Paula has been married to her husband Tom Shaw since May 2014, when they wed in a posh wedding at Leeds Catherdral.
They have a son and a daughter.
Tom has also appeared in Coronation Street in 2017 and 2018 on a recurring basis.
