SONBELIEVABLE Jai Sharma horrified by discovery in dad Amit’s bombshell in Emmerdale
Suni Sharma desperately tries to bring both men together.
AMIT Sharma has been vehemently pushed away by his biological son Jai Sharma despite attempting to bond with him.
Next week in Emmerdale, however, the businessman gets a shock as Amit makes a huge decision for the future of his family.
After figuring out that Amit was present on the day his adoptive father Rishi died, Jai Sharma has had no interest in getting to know his biological father.
However, in scenes airing on ITV next week, his half-brother Suni (played by Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) makes it clear he’s had enough of the tension and takes action to bring them together as he celebrates his birthday.
Coming up, Suni leads Jai (Chris Bisson) to believe that Amit won’t be at his birthday party so that he confirms his attendance.
As the party gets underway, Suni’s delighted with what Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope) and Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) have put together for him.
But in other scenes, conflict is on the horizon as Jai’s wrongfooted when Amit arrives.
After a tense interaction, Amit agrees to leave the party – but not before he presents Suni and Jai with a mysterious envelope.
In the envelope is Amit’s will which states that Jai and Suni will receive his shares in the HOP after his death.
Just when it seems that his wife Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) has managed to convince him to return to work, Jai darkens as he reads a mysterious text message.
Who could it be from?
Will Jai finally accept Amit in his life?
Amit was initially introduced when Jai found out he had been adopted, after being kept in the dark about his parentage for several decades.
The revelation was followed by Laurel and Jai’s wedding, although they walked down the aisle in Rishi Sharma’s absence due to the businessman being unable to forgive him for his lies.
Little did they know at the time that Rishi wasn’t able to attend the ceremony as he fell down his stairs to his death moments before.
Jai was devastated but he was furious when he learned that Amit, unbeknownst to him prior, had been present when Rishi died.
Viewers of the Yorkshire-based program have been convinced that Amit murdered Rishi himself, although he insists he did no such thing.

Amit actor Anil Goutam teased big moments to come in the storyline.
“So I guess he’s the sort of person who you’ve only seen one aspect of him and he has a side to him.”
“He’s quite dark as he has a darker side to him, but not in his own mind.”
The former EastEnders actor added: “He does what he does to protect his family, but it’s what he thinks is the right thing to do to protect his family.”
“I think he can convince himself of pretty much anything being the right thing to protect his family.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
