EMMERDALE fans think they have rumbled Eric Pollard’s downfall in an epic revenge twist – ranting “he deserves it!”
Earlier this week, Eric stepped in at the last minute to pay for Amy and Matty’s wedding, after Amy’s mum Kerry was unable to trump up the cash.
Kerry had pinned all her hopes on selling an expensive necklace she had stolen while on a cruise ship, but Eric told her it was only worth £60.
He then stepped in to pay for the wedding so it could go ahead, and walked Amy down the aisle.
But afterwards, he was seen climbing into a car to meet a pawnbroker acquaintance, where they celebrated making thousands off Kerry’s necklace.
Having conned Kerry out of money that could have been hers, he went on to tell her that she had to sign a loan agreement and pay him back every penny plus interest.
It’s not the only wicked thing the pensioner has done this week, as he has also threatened Jai Sharma over an incident with his birth father Amit a few weeks ago, and asked him to do as he says amid a new feud with Victoria Sugden.
Eric was left furious after Victoria dumped his grandson, Jacob Gallagher, and demanded Jai sack her from The Hide.
Victoria had been strong-armed into it by Jacob’s mum Leyla but Eric didn’t know that and didn’t care – he wanted revenge.
He told her boss Jai about how Jacob had been dumped by Victoria and he wanted her to suffer.
“She seems intent on destroying my family’s happiness so I’d like you to sack her,” he told Jai who told him it was ridiculous to expect him to sack her.
“No, what is ridiculous is helping you with your father and exiling him from this village,” replied Eric.
“And now it’s time to repay that favour quid pro co.”
Emmerdale fans have not been impressed by Eric’s behaviour, and any sympathy he had garnered in recent months after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease has disappeared.
Keen for Eric to pay for his behaviour, one fan wrote on X: “vic and kerry to team up take Eric down I’m sorry but he deserves a comeuppance!!”
Regarding whether Eric will be caught, another added: “Of course he will. Probably Kerry saying I’m just nipping to town and sees it in a shop.”
A third pointed out that Kerry had stolen the necklace from a cruise ship in the first place and said: “Eric will be caught for handling stolen goods.”
