WHAT THE BELLE Seriously?!’ gasp Emmerdale as Belle Dingle’s ‘laughable’ real name revealed during wedding vows
The run up to the big day did not run smoothly for Belle and Tom, and doesn't bode well for their future.
EMMERDALE fans were left shocked after discovering Belle Dingle’s ‘laughable’ real name during her wedding vows.
The character – played by Eden Taylor-Draper – tied the knot with Tom King during Thursday’s episode.
The run up to the wedding day hadn’t gone to plan, with Belle being left upset after Tom accidentally saw her wedding dress and branded it “cheap”.
Then the night before the big day, Belle pondered whether they should postpone after her dad Zak Dingle called to say he wouldn’t be able to make the wedding as he’d hurt his back while in Scotland.
But in the end, the pair made amends in time for their nuptials to go ahead, with Belle arriving in a stunning wedding gown.
Once at the alter, the pair exchanged vows – with Belle’s full name being revealed in the process.
Tom said: “I Thomas King, take you TinkerBelle Lisa Dingle to be my wife.”
The name prompted newcomer Ruby Fox-Milligan to burst out laughing from the pews, causing everyone to look.
When Belle’s name was repeated as she said her vows, Ruby laughed again and said it “never gets old”.
Emmerdale viewers were equally taken aback by Belle’s real name, with one writing on social media: “What? No one realised Belle’s real name was Tinkerbelle? What with the Dingles’ naming of people.”
Another added: “Belles real name is Tinkerbelle. Seriously?”
A third commented: “Never knew her name was Tinkerbelle.”Meanwhile a fourth shared: “I remember her being born, but never knew her full name was Tinkerbelle! Lol.”
It wasn’t the only drama from the wedding though, as Belle was left sobbing back at home after new husband Tom was horrible to her.
The wedding took a dark twist as Tom dragged her to consummate their marriage on the sofa.
Afterwards, Belle reached out to read the letter Sam had given her earlier in the day from her late mum Lisa, which she had written five years ago in preparation for her daughter’s wedding day.
However, Tom lashed out before making his new wife sleep downstairs on the sofa alone, before Belle broke down in tears as she read her mum’s letter.
